Bob, I'm going to send him pics on Saturday. It's dusty and I'll need to give her a bath before I take those pics. I hope that he has the best price out of the bunch that I'm requesting quotes from . They were just friendly.

We'll see what happens. I should be getting some faxed quotes this week. Still, waiting on the other dealers to come out and take a look at it, so I figure it will be a couple of weeks before I know which one I'm going to go with.

Where are you at in West TN? We are in Somerset which is around 2 hours and change from Nashville.

I'm about 95 miles West of Nashville.

Not to belabor the point, but if other quotes are similar I would seriously consider an M7040 cab with the hydroshuttle. Not much harder to use, not a lot bigger, but a far more heavy-duty tractor. As a bonus it may use less fuel too! Could also suggest other brands to consider, but I can't tell if you've decided on Kubota.

Neil that is exactly what I am going to do. I have enjoyed reading your posts over the past year or so here on TBN.

I have pretty much decided that the next tractor will be a Kubota. I would love to have a M series tractor. I'd bring home the M9540 with loader tommorrow if the wife would let me.:( She does most of the mowing around here and wants a hydrostat tractor. So the 5740 is what I have decided on. It should do the job well. We will also use it to mow the 3 acrea yard we have.

The specs are as follows:
R4 loaded tires.
AM/FM/CD
Loader with quick attack and woods 73" 4-n-1 bucket
3 remote valves with TNT
rear work lights
rear wiper
3rd function valve for the loader
Woods DS96 semi-mount rotary cutter with hydrualic height adjustment

They quoted me $47,310 for this setup. Sorry for the long post.

James

The deal isn't that bad. my guess at the options;

First off, R4's add about a grand $1000
Radio hundreds
4n1 bucket $2500
3 remotes $1500
TNT $1500
3rd funtion valve ?hundreds?
Woods D96 $5450

That puts your options well over $12,000 premium above the cost of the tractor, cab and loader.
