LA243 vs. LA243A and Quick Atach

Vanb did you still use your original loader bucket? I thought i read somewhere that you move the pins to the bucket or the kit comes with pins. Either way, my dealer is telling me I will need a totally new different bucket? That doesnt sound right.

I bought the Kubota FEL quick attach in Feb for my 3 yr old BX25. No problem using my existing bucket. The kit does come with two center pins and the two outside pins. The outside pins move with each attachment you put on, but each attachment needs a dedicated center pin. You drive up and use the center "hook" on the QA to hook and pick up each attachment, then slide in the outer pins and retaining pins. The QA fit fine with my FEL, though I have to fuss just a bit with the left side outer pin to get it to line up. After 3 years of use, maybe I've tweaked the bucket a little somehow. Still it works fine and works with the older BX25 and BX24 loaders.

Just for more reference....while at the dealer recently I asked about adding the QA and he read me an exerpt from his pricing sheet how the newer loader model L243A had the extra gussets and reinforcements that the LA243 did not, hence the "A" on the model #.

Obvioulsy just an engineering change that someone deemed necessary but I hope it works well for anyone with older units. It would be nice if someone had pics to identify the extra reinforcements between the two models.

not rocket science. teh 243A has some extra beef for the QA. I am sure using it on a 243 would not be an issue. Engineering runs deep at Kubota, they account for every little change.

I have a bx2350 (2006) and the original bucket works just fine with the QA. I moved a lot do class 5 and 300lb boulders last season, no problems. If you want one,go for it they work great.

I emailed Jery and he does sell movable forks in addition to the fixed forks, he was just out of them when I questioned him. I am not sure of the weight or cost of the movable forks of Jery's but I would love to know, I just don't want to keep asking him many questions. I am 99% sure the QA fits all the BX models with no issues weather its Kubota's, Jery's or AI2's. I will say I like Jery's the most but yes it is more then twice as much money.

Jery told me my Tach-N-Go will not go on a newer BX machine. My tractor is the BX2230, with the LA211 loader, welded straight arms not the curved arms. Jon

You have to tell Jery which loader you have. My Tach-N-Go does not fit your machine, being yours is newer. (If I understand what Jery told me.) Jon
