All right, I can't take it anymore. I'm starting the preliminary investigation about acquiring a FEL.
Just called the dealer to get an idea of how much $ I need to set aside. He quoted 4000$ installed for the 302 and 3600 for an Allied. I like the idea of getting the factory FEL, to me it should be a better fit - but I'm open to suggestions. What do you think of that price? Please note that I'm talking Canadian $ here - so 2500 and 2200 respectively.

I'd jump on the Kubota 302 loader at that price.

Yep, like Hayden said, go for the LA302 (might want to specify the 4-position valve with it).

If the LA302 can be removed and put back on as easily as my LA402. The LA302 would be the only choice I would make.
Will you have to add 15% tax on top of that price? /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

For a $400 dollar difference? I'd go with the Kubota loader.
One year "no hassle warranty"
Replacement parts availability
Designed by Kubota for your machine
Resale value
Looks better
Anyone else want to add to the list?

Thanks for the advice guys. I feel very privileged - 3 Veteran responses, 1 Platinum and one Star - I guess I can take those suggestions to the bank /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif.

Time to start putting the money aside.

And Ron, the way our sales tax works is 4000 x 1.07 provincial = 4280, then 4280 x 1.075 federal = 4601 Total. So 15% is almost right on.

Paul, which aerator do you have? J

My aerator is a rather "rinky-dink" Kubota model from around the early 80's. It shares the 3ph attachment with my Kubota rear-blade. I've never measured it, but I'd guess it's about 42" wide. The spikes are stamped sheet metal disks - shaped like stars. There must be at least 20 disks all together - mounted on some sort of spring so that you don't tear the grass when you turn. Can you tell I use it much?

Neat, you're not very far. It takes me 40 minutes to get to Cornwall via the bridge from the US. Because I manage network services for our Ottawa division, I often leave right from home, drive to Cornwall and take the 138 to Casselman (sp?).
