LA524 Loader

Take the first two numbers and multiply by 10 to get the capacity in KG, so it would be 520KG (1146 lb). I believe the "4" indicates the 4th revision. The new loader is the LA525, same capacity but the 5th revision.

I assumed the LA524 was the standard bucket and the LA525 is the SSQA version. Is that not the case?

The LA524 was on the L3200/L3800. The newer L3301/3901 get the LA525. SSQA doesn't change the model number of the loader itself, it's just an option (as are the buckets).

Posting in a 2 year old thread and about something not even related to the thread.

You just bought the tractor but didnt look or ask how much the loader can lift? The lift specs are on kuboas website, in their brochures, in the manual, etc. Not hard to look up. There are a ton of different numbers thought, Lift capacity at 3 different locations, to different heights, breakout forces at different places, etc. Not sure what you are looking for.

Oh, and it dont matter if you are lifting a bucket of lime, dirt, rocks, or feathers. The lift capacity is gonna be the same.

Dumb question. Can you modify a LA524 for SSQA after the fact? Didn't think I'd need pallet forks for my L3800, but looking at doing a bunch of stone work and it might be nice for moving pallets.

Yes you can, Buy the SSQA adaptor from your Kubota dealer and modify the bucket by striping off the "ears" and welding on an easily found SSQA plate (from many different suppliers) or make your own.

Yep, the SSQA just pins on in place of the stock bucket. I seem to remember the cost is about $450 for the kit. As k0ua mentioned, you could re-use your existing bucket by adding a plate to it, but the way the stock bucket is reinforced at the rear, it would be a real chore to convert over in my opinion.

I gave $400 for the SSQA adaptor for an L3400. Of course that has been a few years ago now. As for the bucket conversion, like anything else the first one is the hardest!

If you have the right tools (plasma cutter would be really nice) it would not be that bad. My conversion has held up, I used the old Kubota bucket a last weekend to pop out some small stumps. It is my "beater bucket" when I do something like that on my Kioti.
