Kubota L3430
Hello,

When I bought my Kubota L3430, I went with the LA513 Loader and BL4690 Backhoe. My thinking was that the lighter equipment would be easier on the tractor as well as cheaper to purchase.

At the time I did not check out these fine sites like TBN to get everyones opinion. Now I see when the question comes up 3 out of 4 recommend the heaver LA723 and BH90. I wish I had checked here as I like to have the best.

Having said that, I am very happy with the loader and backhoe. The Kubota three point setup has a very strong top bar and a cross bar on the bottom. In fact Kubota calls it a subframe, not a three point. Also the dirt here in Michigan is mostly loamy sand, just have to watch out for large rocks sometimes.

I did get three remotes so the BH90 might not have been much more money.

This might help someone else, plus I like these debates. Informative but not dangerous like Hydro vs Gear or I DRILLED MY ROPS!

What do you think?

The main thing about the LA 723 is its dump/rollback angles. With the 4 bar linkage your able to rollback further which really helps in loading the bucket with debris while on the ground. The lift difference is nice but I take lift height and rollback angles over lift ability.

_RaT_,

Wow, that was a fast reply. You must have been ready to type! I hit reload after posting and your answer was there.

Your right, the lift height and rollback would be more important. I haven't had any problem with either on the LA513. Can't think of when I would need more rollback. If the lift height isn't enough like to load a truck you could always build a dirt ramp. Might not be nice on a customers yard though.

I was thinking of the lifting capacity because things always get overloaded (yes, I am guilty /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif) and I thought it would be easier on the tractor. Had some really big rocks on the pallet forks last month.

I find that most of the time I can work the load. Just a short time ago I had a large rock, much to large for the bucket and not even remotely close to being liftable. I moved about 1000' to a creek where my road passes over. With some finesse, I got it done. I think the same would have been possible with the LA 723

I'm not sure what Kubota calls the BL4690 backhoe, but I do know it hooks up to my tractor at the same three points that other implements use... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

i have an la723 on my L3130 & the BH90 hoe. I love it. My motto has always been bigger is better. You have to remeber these are tractors, not Mercedes Benz. They are built & designed to be worked. Kubota wouldnt have allowed these things to be mounted & warrentied if it was to much for the tractor. When I went to purchase mine, The dealer insisted I go with the La723 & bh90 & told me I would have regrets any other way!

Hello Grassgod,

I wish my dealer had talked me into the LA723 and BH90. I don't think he realized how easy it would have been! Seems like most people around here are always looking to get by cheap and a lot of the businesses reflect that. I have to talk them into letting me spend more money sometimes!

I do work my Kubota hard and I would rather have it than a Mercedes Benz! I am happy with my loader and backhoe, just wondering about the other choices. Next purchase I will check all the forums and be well educated.

I have an L3130 GST with 3.8 hours on it. I am waiting on the dealer to replace the quick coupler for the bucket with the corrrect unit.
The loader is a la513; I can upgrade to the la723, but it will cost me at least a thousand dollars. I will probably stay with the la513 since I hate to keep laying money out on this tractor. If I had bought the same tractor with the manual transmission I probably could swing the money for the larger loader, but I have to draw the line somewhere and stop spending.

I don't believe I'll be getting a backhoe anytime soon so I'll try be content with what I have.

It was good to read that you are okay with your loader and hoe.

I have the 3430HST, LA723 and BH90. I have been very please with the set up. Although, I am like you, I wish I went bigger. I was bugging my dealer about moving up to a L48 or L5030. He laughed at me and told me to go back home and enjoy the tractor that I have. Your set up will do you fine, Have fun and enjoy. Best regards
