As much as I dislike Al Gore, and despite the lake being frozen over more percentage than the past 20 years, 2013 was tied for fourth warmest year on record since the 1880s.

I was not able to safely go ice fishing three of the past 4 years. This year, the ice if very good. One year of good ice doesn't mean a thing.
9 of the 10 warmest years on record have occurred since the year 2000.
Take it for what its worth.
I do not disagree but the earth has been warming up sense the last ice age, how much is mans fault is where I have a problem understanding.

My uncle worked on the ore freighters in the Great Lakes. He would always come home to Florida when there got to be too much ice for safe passages. During the 70's he was coming home for the winter pretty early. This winter was like one of those 70's winters. The last few, not so much.

The earth cools and warms in a series of natural cycles. I doubt the cavemen created an ice age driving their SUVs.

One very important thing to remember .. mankind can certainly make a mess of things - BUT - mankind is NOT AUTHORIZED to destroy the planet.

1962, 1979 and 1996 were big ice years. And now 2014 will be too. For us here in Florida, it is a nice change of pace. The last few years we have had no winter to speak of. That isn't good when you have lots skeeters. But last week with all the ice and cold we had, I still saw a few skeeters buzzing around.

I saw some sights where climatologists are predicting a global cool down for the next 10-15 years. They are theorizing that global warming had more to do with sun spots and solor flares than it did with CO2 levels. Apparently this year saw a major reduction in solar flares with numbers comparable to what was occurring in the 70's while the 90'and 00's saw an all time high.

I have a tendency to believe that more man made climate change. Emission standards are a bitter pill. Sure it would be great if everyone was doing it but if anyone has been to any country outside the US, Canada, W. Europe, Au and a few others they will quickly realize that the majority of the world has interest in regulating or reducing their carbon output.
