Bluegill can be aggressive with people too. A friend and I went swimming in my pond last night and they bit us several times. One actually pulled the string on her bikini bottom so hard that it untied the knot!!!

They are Brim where I live, same family and regional name, this is their month to bed here. I have those beds all over in the shallows. Locals say this coming full moon is the peak and time to go fishing.
