Quick Hitches Land Pride Quick Hitch

Obviously the more we discuss this, the more differences come to light. Now it even appears that companies like Speeco offer different QHs, even though they are the same category.

Our local Farm Supply store stocks Speeco. I checked out the CAT I QH. They are very well built and heavy. Nothing cheap about them at all. They come with a Top Link adapter and roll pin CAT I to CAT II bushings for the lowers. The lowers are CAT II.

So now I'm more confused than ever. AND,,, I still don't know who makes Speeco's QH or LP's for that matter???

I'm beginning to think everyone is importing them. The differences are simple contracted specification requests.

If ordering one, sight unseen, I'd want to know the lower hook size. I'd also want to know the weight of the product. Those two things will give you an idea of the durability that you are buying. Otherwise,,, who knows what you'll get.
I have an older Speeco Cat 1 QH that my dad gave to me and it is about a 1/4" to narrow to fit in the clevis type hitch of my new Land Pride BB. I wedged it in there once and could hardly get it off, not what I had in mind for a quick hitch setup. Is this common for a Speeco QH to be to narrow for the newer implements? The inside width of the BB clevis "pocket" is 26-7/8" and the outside width of the clevis "pocket" is 31-3/8". The bottom hooks of the QH will fit in there but the steel from the frame of the QH hits the clevis ears. I guess I have a QH I can't use on my favorite tool.

My Northern Tool QH is 26 1/2" inside, 28 3/4" outside. So mine would have the same problem as yours. Bummer. Not sure how your LP BB is built but I'm guessing you wouldn't be able to just move the inner flatbars closer to the middle to narrow the hitch?? Bummer. :(

Seems that this issue has been covered before, and IIRC, the solution some have used was to place a jack between the pick up points and spread the arms a quarter inch. Might want to check with the search function to make sure I'm not dreaming.

Hey, maybe Piston will see this and give us an accurate measurement between his lower hooks?? Or anyone else that has an LP QH for that matter??

Wow! That's exactly what I need to do!! That will work I only need about 1/4" . Thanks I wish I would have thought of that.

I really like this forum, but I have hard time finding anything with the search function, I wish they could tweak it!
