Used my 60" land pride rake with my BX22 for the first time to groom my 600' gravel driveway, and it did a fine job. I also got the flip down blade, and my question is do I need gauge wheels when using the blade? Thanks.

wheels would help make the job a no brainer.
Look at a road grader, see how long it is? and where is the blade? Or look at a Land Plane that a sod farm uses occasionally, the wheels are in front and back of the blade spaced fore and aft about 2 times the blade width. the farther away the supporting tires are, the less the blade depth is effected when the tires hit a hole.

with the 3ph in float and no gage wheels the rake will follow the contour of the land. I have gotten by without them only because of the sticker shock, maybe I'll make'em someday /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif and
"if" I do they will telescope so the wheels will be even if the rake is angled.

Thanks for the reply. I see noow where the wheels would be helpful in smoothing out poholes and dips in my driveway.
