Well, this didn't end well and I'm glad I went to see it in person. :( I spoke with the salesman before I drove out to see it. I specifically asked about any damage, abuse, etc and told him I was not concerned with superficial rust, scuffed paint, etc for a ground engagement implement like this. He assured me it was straight, sound and, had no significant defects. He even sent additional pictures. Imagine my surprise to see 3 of 8 scarifier points broken and the cutting edge of the box blade with gouges in it. Not deal breakers at this point but, I took a moment to clear my head. I went back to look closer and he tells me to reverse the blade and he will ship new points for the broken scarifiers. Hmmmm something doesn't seem right. Is it an optical illusion? Where's a straight edge (this is a big shop with a lot of mechanics who are all apparently on break with no straight edge to be found? Real head scratcher here for a shop that does $35Million in sales. Anyway, out to scrap pile where I picked up a rolled piece of steel ~5' long and back I go to check out the box blade. Why did I doubt the cutting edge could be flipped? YEP, the box blade was SPRUNG! It was not straight and obviously had hooked something hard with a BIG tractor attached to it. As the saying goes, BUYER BEWARE. This is the wrong box blade to use sculpting ground. My speculation is that this was not attached to a 60Hp tractor as I was told and it was likely used in heavy rocks where a dozer, while more expensive, would be a more appropriate tool. I say this as someone who grew up on a Cat D4D, BIG John Deere farm tractors with box blades (think terraces) and, as someone currently digging up stumps with a Cat D4H. I wish this would have worked out but, how do you sculpt ground with a box blade that isn't straight? Back to the 30Hp tractor with R4 tires and a flimsy but straight 60" cut....

Better take that salesman off your Christmas card list!

Yikes, sorry to hear that. Was it Edwin you dealt with? I was kinda leery about it from the photo's since it looked kinda used for the age I was told.

Looks really good, mine's not much better and I paid way more for it.

Looks good. And not a slam on your tractor, but, that BB will wear out several tractors that size. You did good.

If you want to test your tractor, drop the scarifier and stab it in the ground. You'll see what I mean. That BB is a beast and will never suffer any damage on your sized tractor. Good find.

I totally agree with you, it is a beast and gives my tractor a workout like it hasn't had with the other boxblade it replaced I wouldn't want anything bigger. I am very pleased with it so far but have to get used to the floating tailgait it makes it very sensitive to the top link settings

You probably already know it, but you can lock the tailgate in place with a couple of bolts. I haven't locked mine yet, but will in the next week or so for smoothing some of my roads. My TnT really helps, but I still have a way to go to get as good as I'd like.
