I have zero experience with a grapple but I know I will try to tackle jobs maybe bigger than intended like large piles from land clearing, medium sized root balls, etc. as long as unbalanced loads and oops a serious gouging don't faze it then I am sold just depending on price.

This could be my first reason for a QA and removal of my FEL.

So, will you be the first to get a quote on the cost from a Kubota/Landpride dealer? Inquiring minds want to know. :D

I just put in a call to my dealer. This looks like a great addition to the BX's versatility. The spec sheet from Land Pride says it will lift 360lbs on a BX25D. Got some rocks bigger than that but a lot more less than that. For brush collecting it looks great.

Well my dealer says it will run $1299 and availability is mid to late January. Doesn't sound too unreasonable. I did not price out the 3rd function valve as I figure I can use the plumbing on the back of my BX24 with a valve setup from Surplus center.

dragoneggs,

I had the same issue with my new JD 1026R SCUT. The grapples were too big or too expensive, and overkill from some occasional brushwork. So I picked up some clamp-on fork tines that worked fine for me......not perfectly like a grapple would, but close enough for half the price of a grapple. And they are built very heavy.

Maybe you would like to consider also........Multi-Spear Ultra Fork

Do not know if you have seen the products from this company or not. Tach-N-Go + INNOVATIVE ATTACHMENTS

Yes, I have spoken to Jery several times. He has made some very innovative implements built around the Tach-N-Go. I am still contemplating his Versigrap as I think a person could make other attachments (like forks) for it. The fact that it will also go on the 3pt is a big plus as the lifting capacity is a lot greater than the loader.

I saw the LP spec sheet too, and it looks to me that they arrived at 360 lbs by subtracting the weight of the grapple from the FEL weight rating of 510 lbs which did not make sense to me since the FEL rating should be in addition to the bucket weight, not a gross figure. Anyway, I was loading brush in a trailer manually very much like the video they show of the guy loading the trailer with the grapple. Boy I could have used that grapple that day.

I'm really stuck deciding if I should buy the new Kubota pallet forks, the Thumb grapple, or now this new Landpride grapple, or not invest in anymore BX attachments in case I upgrade at some point. Never thought spending money could be this hard. :confused2:
