A salesman told me today that an 8' power rake would over heat my L48 and for that reason recomended the 6ft. I thought I saw many posts with 8' rakes being used with under 30 pto hp? Do you think an 8' would run too slow or over heat my L48?"

My little L3830 HST runs the Pro 8 beautifully as long as the loader is on since the thing is quite heavy. The T-8 would be a snap. I used to run it on my L48 and it did not know it was back there. I think he must be confused, very confused. Rowski has the T-8 on a much smaller tractor, the NH 2120 and he reports no issues running the rake.

I ran my Pro 8 up very steep hills on the L48 and it never got hot or ran slow, no, you would if anything be overheating the rake. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

All what rakes? Harley definitely does not make all the rakes. ATI makes their rakes and Landpride builds theirs. They look nothing like the Harley.

It is my understanding that Glenmac makes Harley and Woods power rakes but Landpride and ATI make their own. Your riight Rat, they do not look alike form the pictures. I have never seen one in person. It is understandable that a dealer may say something of that sort and not realize others (ones they don't deal in) exist? could happen. I have already been told by a dealer that the 8' rake would overheat and slow down my L48? I didn't believe him after reading many notes on the forum but had to double check it in case. Great and helpful input-thanks.

Both Harley and ATI (called a preseeder) have videos available if you request one. Oddly, the very well built ATI didn't reperesent itself as well on the video. Actually, I did not feel the video did justice to either. It's like when you take a picture of something on a steep slope and the slope is always less impressive when viewed from a photo. Mark

Pay close attention to the overall width on a 96"-wide Harley. Will it fit on your trailer? ATI Corporation's model 805 Preseeder is just under 96" in overall width. Just pull your whole rig onto your trailer. Much faster than wrestling with three-point pins and loading the rake by itself sideways!
Take a look at the peaked carbide teeth on the Preseeder as well. Much more aggressive.
