Landscape rake tines

Anyone built their own land scape rake? Where can I get a good price on the tines and little mounting clips that keep them from twisting? I have plenty of steel so my only cost is the tines.

When I built my own rake I used 2-hole tines from Agri-Supply (#33193 @ $2.99 each). They also sell the one hole tines but with the 2-hole you don't get any twisting movement once they are installed.

Second the vote on Agri-supply tines. cheapest source I found after a LOT of looking. I think the tines they supply are made in italy. I also used the 2 hole 1" wide tines(they sell a heavier/larger one also) to make a 4' rake for behind my sears garden tractor(4', 24 tine rake cost me around $100 total to build). They Work great for me, stiff enough to pick out small rocks and drag more brush than the tractor has traction for yet individualy springy enough to pop over/around stump heads and other immovable objects without incuring any damage. I will be ordering some more soon to make a 5'-6' rake for my 3PH tractor.

when I was starting the rake project, I called Agri-supply and talked to one of their product specialists to get specs. He faxed me a spec drawing with complete dimensions which made desigining the rest of the rake around the tines a piece of cake. He even offered to send me one free of charge to try before I buy.

Just mount them 2" on center with 3/8" grade 8 bolts. My rake is super heavy duty and those tines hold up just fine.

I believe they are the same ones used by Woods, Landpride and several others.

Ok, here is an attempt at a picture attachment. I built this rake a few years ago for the sleeve hitch on my sears 27HP garden tractor. With the mower deck removed, it was not too heavy to lift using the main lift lever, but it was pretty heavy. because of this I had to keep the hitch short. A consequence of this is that the lift lever didn't lift it very high. Far enough to transit, but not far enough to clear a load of trash. I added a latch assembly to the middle and by pulling up on the lever that sticks out through the middle of the tines, you can lift the whole tine rack up 90 degrees to allow you to drive away from a large pile of debris. It also swivels about 45 degrees left or right. The chains hold it at the desired angle. I mainly built it to haul in the branches I was trimming from the lower 8-10 feet on the trees on my property to reduce the fire hazard.
