What size will cover, but not be wider than about 55" when set at an angle?

More than six but less than seven ft. My eight footer rake shrinks way more than I think it should and at times won't cover the tracks on an L4300 Kubota.

This is a basic trigonometry question. In the era of the interwebz, you can ask Google this way:
cos A deg * W"
Where A is the angle and W is the rake width. Example for a 7' rake at 45 degrees.

To find rake width for a given span S at angle A,
S" / arccos A deg
Example for 55" span at 45 degrees.

To complete the problem for the third variable...
For tractor outside tire span S and rake width W, the largest angle that will cover the tracks is found by,
arccos(S/W) in degrees
For example, 6' tire span and 7' rake width
