What size will cover, but not be wider than about 55" when set at an angle?
ThanksA 6 foot rake at a 45* is about 50" wide.

cos A deg * W"
Where A is the angle and W is the rake width. Example for a 7' rake at 45 degrees.

To find rake width for a given span S at angle A,
S" / arccos A deg
Example for 55" span at 45 degrees.

To complete the problem for the third variable...
For tractor outside tire span S and rake width W, the largest angle that will cover the tracks is found by,
arccos(S/W) in degrees
For example, 6' tire span and 7' rake width
