Laptop help?

I have a family friend that has Lou Gehrig's disease. She has progressed to the point that she cannot talk at all. Her husband and son have been looking for an inexpensive lap top computer that she could carry with her to talk to people with. Does anyone know where they could get a used or reconditioned laptop inexpensively? I don’t know anything about laptops.

JERRY: U MIGHT try a small independent comupter builder, a friend of mine just picked up a decent one for $300 , not loaded with power but for their needs something like that would be fine, also check web site of majior manufacture and see if they have refurbished ones, u may even get them to cut u some special deal under the circumstances, wont hurt to ask. wish i could help more!/w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

There is a computer recycler here in town. But they allow no walk in sales. All sales are over the 'net and must be shipped. I'll see if I can find their info.

Also check eBay for something local to them. Might save shipping expenses.
