I once saw a video of a holland farmer fill his (manure) spreader, then drive it to the court house and engage the PTO on the building. It was a classic last stand. I looked online but could not find it. He did recieve a fine, but gained world recoginiton on his plight!

I have seen that video and it is impressive.

To make sure we are on the same page local means county or town representatives.

Later,
Dan

"Local" in this case would mean the state congressional representative and senator elected from the OP's district...not a town or borough official. County officials don't have much say in borough or town affairs and probably wouldn't be overly knowledgable of state law.

I, and others I know, have had good success working with the state representatives. As I'd written in an earlier post, several cities and towns have tried to write their own firearms laws and ordinances which violate PA state pre-emption. There have been a number of lawsuits and the towns and cities have consistently lost.
Not being a farmer, I don't know the PA Right to Farm laws, but I can assure you any representative or senator of a rural (farming) area will be cognizant of the law. It may or may not help the OP...depends on how it's written and other factors we may not be aware of.

if you still have invasive species, that you have not yet dealt with before ya got a stop letter. get pictures to show proof. of wanting to remove. i no longer remember the verbiage, for illegal plants and like and it is the owner of land responsibility to take care of and remove / kill or try and keep things under control pending on what things are. there are some thistles and multi flower roses for me, that are on the list of things that is not wanted by the government.

I agree. Our state rep has several local offices to work with constituents and has people on staff who handle such issues.
Hearing "This is Mr X from Senator Y's office and Senator Y asked me to get him some more information on the Z Farm issue" will often get people to check their position VERY closely and make sure that it is in accordance with the law.

Calling and getting information from the representative is fine, and a good idea to get a start, but the OP better make danged sure the information he receives is correct. We have talked with representatives regarding state law and we knew more than they did. His best chance of getting correct information is from a lawyer who knows this area of law, and possibly, the FB. The OP has a 30 day deadline which is not a lot of time before the local official drops the hammer. The OP, has in effect, been criminally charged. He needs to talk to a lawyer ASAP. The clock is ticking.

I'm no lawyer. I'm not even in the US. But if I were you, I'd remove the pictures you posted, and all the details about what you 'did' or 'did not' do on your land. If it gets ugly, I'm sure it will be used against you. Do it, even if you're 200% sure you're in the right. You might be glad you did in 3-5 years, if it gets ugly..

On a side note, I'm always amazed to read things about townships, gated communities (same thing?), and the ridiculous rules they have about what you can't do, and what you have to do. We don't have that here, and it's always a surprise to learn how restrictive they are. We keep being told USA the 'land of the free', but it seems the other way around from here.. I feel for you guys :(
