This was a 'squeak it in' late fall, long weekend project. The wife requested a raised planting bed to over winter some herbs and to have a place for early spring planting.

The planter had to be portable (broad definition  ).
The planter should raise the planting surface to create a more arthritis friendly work place.:)
Actual size of 'planter bed' was 'to be determined'.....

Disclaimer: Anything I can move with the tractor is considered 'portable'.:D

I interpreted 'raised bed' to mean 'lift' with tractor. :p

I had all the wood from a previously disassembled deck...so I utilized the maximum length available.

I'de keep it mounted on the back. Once you get the dirt in it you'll have one heck of a counterweight for the FEL. ;)

If you take a run at the gate you'll never have to worry about that little problem again. :D

What did you use for the hoops? Looks like grey PVC tubing. I did not realize PVC could be bent back on itself that tightly.

Nice job by the way.

Very nice job. My only question is the wood. It looks like treated wood, is it?

If it is you might want to line the box. Treated wood isn't anything you want near herbs.

Yes...it's grey PVC electrical conduit, 10 footers. The planter box is 5 foot wide. I chose it because it seemed fairly flexible and it's rated as "sun resistant".
