MReeter,

I've got a Caroni 48" on my BX2200, and it handles it pretty well. It has 6 blades per flange and came with a slip clutch, although it was a pain to get adjusted right. The only thing lacking (vs. KK) is it's chain driven rather than gear. It also weighs in at just over 400lbs, which puts it very near the recommended max for the BX. I believe the KK is closer to 600lbs, which might be pushing it a bit on a BX (I've lifted more than that with a carry-all, but that was just dead weight. I'm not sure I'd want that much bouncing around behind me). I paid $839 for it, plus shipping and tax it came to $970.

If you have an opportunity to try it out before buying, you should definitely take him up on it. That way you can get a feel for whether the weight is too much or not.

I like the sounds of the Caroni features, especially the weight. That 600 lbs. would be a tug, I'm sure. But,on the other side, the fella I spoke of that has a KK on B-1750 is a BIG GARDNENER.He plants up to 10-15 acres of veggies every Summer. In the past he has worn out 3 different tillers,2 Bush Hogs and a Caroni. He says the KK (new last year) is the best tiller he has owned to date, and is also priced right.

Now,I sure don't plan on planting any 15 acre garden soon,so I really don't need a tiller that will long outlive me.I'm just looking for the best unit for the money and one that will work well with the BX.

Thanks for the info,I need to find a Caroni dealer.

I got the tiller through Agri-Supply. I contacted Caroni and they pointed me to them as my nearest dealer. They are based in NC, but unfortunately it's still over a 4 hour drive from where I live. I ordered mine via phone, 1-800-345-0169. They also have a web site, www.agri-supply.com. They answered all of my questions, both over the phone and via e-mail, and even offered to send me a manual before I decided to purchase. I would deal with them again.

Mark,

I am using a Rhino 47" tiller on the 1320. Think it would handle a 56" easily even though it is only 20 hp. The BX would handle the Rhino well I would think.

I bought a new BX2200 on Friday and trailered it home with the following implements: FEL, 60"MMM, and 50 inch Kuhn tiller. The grill guard, work light kit and tooth bar are on order but part of the total package for $13,500 including dealer freight and setup. This was significantly lower than anyone else in our area and in line with what I've seen at this site.
This is a smooth, user friendly machine. It mows better than my front mount Grasshopper and scuffs much less. Yet it is small enough to fit in tight spaces in the yard and garage. The loader is easy to take off and on and operate (on my limited use on a compost pile). It lifts the 495 pound Kuhn tiller with ease. For anyone looking to buy a small compact; this is a unique product because of the 3pt, 540 rear pto, loader, MFWD and small diesel engine all in a size that is barely bigger than a garden tractor. It has to be at least a foot shorter than all other comparable products (a big factor if space to store is tight and if you have many trees to get between). Plus it costs thousands less than the other "bigger" subcompacts. The web site contributors convinced me to buy this machine as I had been thinking about something bigger and more costly but less useful on a smaller lot. Thank you Muhammad and everyone who contributes.
