MReeter,
I've got a Caroni 48" on my BX2200, and it handles it pretty well. It has 6 blades per flange and came with a slip clutch, although it was a pain to get adjusted right. The only thing lacking (vs. KK) is it's chain driven rather than gear. It also weighs in at just over 400lbs, which puts it very near the recommended max for the BX. I believe the KK is closer to 600lbs, which might be pushing it a bit on a BX (I've lifted more than that with a carry-all, but that was just dead weight. I'm not sure I'd want that much bouncing around behind me). I paid $839 for it, plus shipping and tax it came to $970.
If you have an opportunity to try it out before buying, you should definitely take him up on it. That way you can get a feel for whether the weight is too much or not.
