asked to search my truck.

of couse I passed .. and nothing on the search.. which I told him he wouldn't find anything..

The right answer is "You can search with a warrant" and make him get it. He will have to specify exactly what he expects to find and why. NEVER consent to a vehicle search without a warrant.

And, saying no does not give them probable cause to continue the search anyhow. Without your consent, they are off to the judge to get a warrant.

I really.. really wanted to get home after getting off work at midnight... didn't feel like setting beside the road for 2-3 hours in case the LEO wanted to be more of a pain than he already was...

besides.. there was nothing to find in my truck...

When I tagged my new trailor, the DMV suggested I tag it for a lower weight because the fee is less. I didn't know any better at the time and agreed. Now I wonder if I might be overweight sometimes, because it isn't tagged to it's full capacity.

And I almost ran over one of VA finest one rainy night. His car was off the side of the road with lights flashing, so I slowed down and proceeded to go by since it looked like a typical traffic stop, and he jumps out in front of me, holding a flashlight that I could barely see with his car lights flashing. He asked for License and registration, looked them over, and told me to go on. Not the smartest way to be doing registration checks.

Been through getting pulled over late at night a couple of times also Sound Guy. In my younger days I was manager of a local Tavern and worked the Fri and weekend nights. the most rememerable time was when I was pulled over for weaving on my Motorcycle. He followed me leaving from work and I only blew a 0.2 at 4am on a Sat.morning.:smiley_aafz:

You "only" blew a .2 and were still able to ride your motorcycle? Was this a typo?

I hardly ever drink.. yet I get followed home half the time since I am leaving a 'bar' at close 4 nights a week.

you'd think the cop would figure out who works there and who doesn't after a few YEARS...

I think you mean .02 which is just a trace amount. .08 in legally intoxicated in most states.
