Soundguy Yeah, I was kidding you. You might check that the four double window 'cliff sensors' are clear.
Right now I'm sitting at my desk keeping the roomba from getting into the rat's nest of wires with my feet.
The manual is pretty poor. It talks about the beep signals and doesn't list them. You have to go to the forum to get that info. I didn't know about the handle or pull out front wheel till you posted about them. My front wheel collected quite a bit of lint.
I'm using the lighthouse for the first time now and it works. But I understand that their claim of four rooms is an exageration. The battery won't last that long.
If you use and charge your roomba twice a day I expect that it will last only three to ten months. And that's not the fault of the design. NiMH batteries will only recharge 200 to 500 times. It's lucky that they don't supply Nicad batteries or it would be even worse. If they used Lion (lithium ion rechargable) it would be much better but the replacement cost these days would be three times as much.
I see they just came out with a model 580 but that just adds a brush kit to the 570 for a hundred dollars more. Still some people like to pay more for something in the belief that it must be better.
