That is entirely possible. Sadly, your post is the first I've ever heard of a bell housing weep hole (did I mention I'm a major amateur with automotive stuff?). So I looked it up around the web and it sounds plausible that it could be what I'm looking at. It drips a slow steady amount enough to make a small wet spot on the garage floor, but not enough to lower the transmission fluid level at any significant rate. Sounds like this is normal for older tractors. Should I try some lucas stop leak type product? The gasket is supposed to have a dime sized hole in it? And what is the weep hole really for?

Where did that plate with the hole come form??

IF it was on the bellhousing of the transmission, then yes it is likely a weep hole. And it is supposed to be there.

IF you have a leaky trans input seal, or a leaky rear main seal on the engine, it allows the oil a way to drain out. Otherwise the bellhousing would fill up with oil and soak the clutch and then it wouldnt work.

But with what you circled, it looks like you pulled it off the bottom of the loader arm. If that is the case, it is possible that it is a drain hole for that. CAuse that loader holds the hydraulic fluid in the loader arms.

PS.. make sure trans is not overfilled.. or it will pool around the seal.. if seal is weak.. it will leak.

stop leak may or may not work.. at best it's a bandaid.

if you wanted to drain the oil down to the correct level and put a quart of trans stop leak init. .. it at least won't HURT anything.. though might not help either. at least it's cheap to try though.. so nothing lost.

I just changed the transmission oil because it was white. White White. I got out a bit more than the 2.75 gallons that should be in there. something like 3-4 gallons. I'll keep an eye on it now.

white is water.

refer to your manual for fill specs.

if it came out white and heavily wet. expect that noew oil to contaminate up fast if you did not flush it.

i'd be adding some transtune seafoam to it to try to get that extra dihydrogen monoxide flashed off faster.

a flush is a drain and fill, agitate and drain then refill. preferably with some sort of addative in the flush oil to mitigate water..e tc.

I have my own specialty mix i use.

in a tranny with a tc.. i'd use atf and trans tune for the flush.
