LB 1914 3 cylinder diesel not running right

Here's another thought. Is your fuel fresh? Diesel is more stable than gasoline (especially gas with ethanol) but Diesel does go bad. Fresh Diesel should be a very pale yellow. almost clear. If it's dark it's old and bad. Also, there are microbes that grow where the fuel meets the water that is always at the bottom of a tank. These bugs are bad and their residue (dead bugs) can foul injectors too. So if your fuel is questionable, replace it.

If you got all three injectors for $65 they are definitely suspect. Just the rebuild parts are like $30-40 per injector. Then each injector needs to be shimmed to adjust pop pressure.

Fuel is new and the last time I ran the fuel down where I could see the bottom of the tank it looked pretty clean.

I think you're on the right track as far as the injectors being the problem and somebody cheated you on the "rebuilt" injectors. It will be interesting to see what you find out about those injectors. You've gone this far and have it almost like new. Hang in there. Post like you have because there are knowledgeable members here who can help.

She does seem to turn over a little hard for a start and you said the battery was new and checked out good. Maybe check the battery ground cable to frame. Mine gave me problems there and a good cleaning with a little copper antiseize has lasted 12 years so far. Also, members have had corrosion under the insulation of the battery cables at the terminal ends. Might be worth a check if not already done.

As you can tell in the last video, I believe my cables need replacing too. I've got some new cables, just need to get some lugs for them.

In post 18 u can def hear a loud "ticking". until the rpms are increased, then when lowered it comes back..
Almost sounds like a valve tick.?? Have u gone thru the valves again after setting the 1st time.??
Isnt there a "cold" & "hot" setting.?? I think I'd recheck them HOT if theres a spec..

I've set the valves, then rechecked them as I heard the ticking also. Both time were on a cold engine. I wasn't aware I should have checked them hot also. I'll do that and let you know the result with another video. Anyone have any idea of the settings on a hot engine. The specs I've got says to set the intake to 0.0071 and the exhaust to 0.0080. I don't have a service manual, but these numbers are hand written in the parts book by the guy that bought the tractor new. I'm the 3rd owner I believe. Maybe I'm setting them wrong because I've found very confliting settings on my internet searches. If anyone has the correct way to do it, I would very much appreciated the info.

I just ordered a service manual as I can't seem to find the correct valve settings. The procedure is pretty simple, but I've found anywhere from 0.006 to 0.009 for both intake and exhaust.

Mark ( https://dieselfuelinjector.guru/ ) is a respected injector rebuilder in the old (pre CDI) Mercedes Diesel community. Don't know if he has the right rebuild kit (nozzles and shims) for Kioti but may be worth a shot.
When you rebuild these things you open them up, clean them up, and reassemble with a new nozzle assembly. Then test for spray pattern, drip, and pop pressure. That requires a pop tester. Pop pressure is adjusted by changing shims, which requires disassembly. Cleanliness is critical. It's important to get good quality nozzles. Back in the day, German-made Bosch parts were superior. Now they are made all over the third world after engine builders abandoned mechanical injection systems. I understand that Monark and Bosio nozzles are still OK.

Here is an update. It turns out the injectors I got for $65 for the set of 3 were, in fact, rebuilt and tested in perfect shape. About time some luck fell my way. I reset the valves like the new service manual said to and it runs pretty good I think, but time will tell. Here is the last video I made. Thanks for everyone help.

What were the correct settings (cold and hot) for the intake/exhaust? Thx!
