Leakin\' up by the front wheel
Hey y'all,
I have had better luck with the 'grey' L1-24 they snookered me into than I have with my internet connection (knocking on wood). I have determined that the comparable American models of this beast are the L2350 and L2650 4WD.
I have experienced some leakage, which I believe to be hydraulic fluid from the assembly on which the front wheels pivot. I was of a mind to simply accept this as part of tractor life as it seems to be part of skidder & loader life (at least with the equipment I have used). Now I am leaking more and the idiot light comes on after moderate-heavy loader usage. Nobody knows how to check the levels on this thing and there is NO DIPSTICK. I have done an exhaustive search and it is official. No stick on the thing anywhere. I have resorted to observing the level on the shaft and when the light goes off to determine what is accepatable operating range.
Anyway, my question is - is this an 'O' ring seal that I can replace without trailering "Orange Sunshine" 100 miles round trip to the dealer/ or do I bite the bullet and take 'er in? Just thought I would ask before I dove in and got into something I wished I had not messed with.
