I talked to Terry. He said best bet is to pull the wheel motor off and send it to them to rebuild, should run around $120. I new wheel motor would run around $500. He said I could probably install the seal kit myself, but they have the means to pressure test it afterwards.

I took it to a local Briggs and Stratton repair shop that also rents and repairs Toro Dingo's (ie. they were quite familiar with a very mechanically similar piece of equipment). Even with that, I still think I financed some of their Power-trac education. I think I'll take the route that I know will work: shipping it to PT for a rebuild!

There's always the other proven alternative. Buy a 55 gal. drum of 10W40 -- and maybe a bucket of oil dry and a broom. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well, I got the wheel off, and the huge bolt that appeared to hold the hub on...I still can't get the hub off...is this sucker just wedged on there, or is there an additional fastener somewhere? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

There's always another bolt. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Heard about a guy once who used a cold chisel to take the head off an engine. Must have been the gasket cement, thought he, since he'd taken out all the head bolts -- except that one row. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
