LED Light Bar vs LED Square Flood lights - Bad news, light bar not as good

After using LED's for a few years, I've noticed a few things. They do light up an area pretty well. Definition of things is with LED lighting isn't as good as with standard halogens. LED's manage to put out blinding light when viewed from well outside the area that is effectively lit - someone standing way off to the side (in the dark, from the operator's perspective) can barely stand to look at the tractor.

Very interesting. I didn't know that. This would be a problem if for example someone is helping you and they are standing beside the tractor or something.

I purchase a small LED light bar (about 12" long, dual mounting and all metal) that the center 4 are spots with the outer 4's being floods.
The frontal tractor area is super well lighted and just like daylight and excellent peripheral coverage.

Where do you have it mounted, Piloon? On the ROPS or front grate?

My tractor is cabbed with a 4" front overhang or 'eyebrow'.
I mounted the light bar under that 'eyebrow' that keeps it out of the elements.
Being up high the projected light clears the FEL and or plow for when I am pushing snow.
\Naturally with short winter hours I get the most advantage of good lighting for snow duties.

I noticed the same thing on vehicles with aftermarket LED driving/fog lights. Some are downright annoying. Same thing with many headlights on today's cars. Seems like when they started using the plastic "fashion designer" headlights and projector bulbs they are often nasty from an oncoming vehicle. Older vehicles with sealed beam lamps that can be aimed are fine.

My lights are all flood pattern, and I don't know the color temperature. They all do look very white.

Check these out. I have had them on both a CJ7 and Deckboat in the past. They are well built and the price is right. I have another set for my LS that I'm going to mount to my ROPS this winter.

I bought RIGID LED's on my B2150 and liked them so much, when I bought my B3000, IU bought and mounted Rigid Lights on it too.

They are very well made and throw out plenty of light. Rigid has a HUGE assortment of light... round, square, bars etc.
