Very tempting and I don't even know why. I need another tractor like ahole in the head, much less an old beater.

Good one George ! Well Ive got 3 tractors so far and lookin for more  My home in Ct is on 1 acre and the Vt property is only 10 acres, why on earth I would want another tractor to restore or work on is beyond me ! ;) :)

BTW, It just kind of gets in your blood !

George you might want to look at a little wider set of the disc, I have pulled a set of 8 footers behind my L4400 without problems. I found a used set of 6 footers that are as heavy as the 8 footer that I had borrowed for $200 or I would have gotten a bigger set.

Are you just wanting a new set . I have two or three sets I would sale .They need a little work but not much. You would not even know you spend any money.

Gizmo, PM me with some specifics and pics (if you have them). I'm in Rock Hill. I don't remember where you are in SC.

Blake, my only concern about the 8 footer is that some of my plots are very small. The Kubota rep (who also can order the Leinbachstuff) also mentioned that the L4400 could pull an 8 footer as well.

I'm also a little concerned about my 'dirt'. This stuff is just terrible. Concrete when dry. Sticky, nasty clay when wet. Fairly manageable when juuuust right, but still dense and chunky. (Totally depleted from cotton growing in the early 1900's.)

I brought in a big set of offset harrows about 10,000lbs with a 150 hp New Holland and did most of my ground work last year. I have alot of pine rows that took something big to knock them down. Now I have bought the 6 footers and am preparing for grass seed. You will be alright with 6 foot but if I was buying new I would get the biggest my tractor could pull and the one that worked best for my needs.

It's called Tractoritis, and there is no known cure. :)
