Hi folks,

I picked up a Leinbach L-7300 PHDlast week. Spent the morning today trying to set it up on my Kubota MX 5000.
It does not seem to be compatible with this tractor. It will not raise high enough to mount the auger.
This will give a better idea, with the PHD mounted on the middle link on the tractor and raised by a hoist to the level where the mounted auger would rest 1" from the ground, the lift arm at its bottom is 26" from the lift pin on the PHD arch frame. When the lift arms are at maximum height, the are just about 6" from the lift pins.
Needless to say when the digger is lowered enough and the arms are lifted up enough to fit the pins, this dog won't hunt.
I believe that if this were the style where the yoke connected to the boom's bottom (the Leinbach hangs the boom under the yoke) it might have worked.

Now the problem is to see if the fellow that I puchased it from ( 225 miles away*%#&) will give me a refund so I can get one that fits.

Has anyone had a similar experience? It seems the tractor is just too big to fit this design.

I had a similar problem with my Leinbach PHD and my little Kubota B6100. It couldn't raise the PHD high enough to pick the point up off the ground.

I took the auger off and cut about 4" off the top, re-drilled the mounting holes and re-mounted the auger. Now it hangs about 2" off the ground when raised. I lost 4" of potential digging depth but that doesn't bother me - I use it mostly for digging holes for my wife's plants and trees anyway...

Bill,

Sounds like a good fix. The only way I could make this workable is by the modification Which I mentioned.
I will do it, but not unless I have to. It will work, but not as well as a more favorable design for this particular tractor.

You might also try attaching the top link using the lowest hole. This will give you a little more height / lift. May not be enough to correct your problem though but it's always worth a try.

Where the boom arch intersects the arm coming from the two lower links on the three point hitch it would be easier to add a plate to relocate that pivot pin to allow the additional height needed.

Many brands offer additional holes at that point for this adjustment.

Tried the lower hole(and the top) a bit more but not substatial and it hits the PTO shield when lowered to much. But Thanks;)

Where this boom is hung from the top there are a number of holes, and I tried most to the point of it binding on raise. That is what I meant. that I would have to convert this to an under boom lift, which would give about a 6-8" rise. I would not know if it would be an effective modification until I did it.
Hence, my reluctance to try unless I can't return it

Have you tried to call the company for any help? I don't know your tractor but isn't it a pretty good size tractor?

Should be a good sized one - it's 50hp. I have a Leinbach on my measly 30hp tractor and do not have any clearance problems. Bet mine's lower to the ground too (11.2x24 rears). I agree with teg - a call to Leinbach can't hurt.

If you follow this link:

you can see a picture of your particular auger mounted on a tractor. Did you set it up like in the picture?

First thing I did was call the company. They were very responsive, but had no solution except a 2" longer yoke.
The design of a straighter boom with and the over boom suspension just places the pins out of reach.
Seem like a good company
I traveled to Odessa today and returned it. (lost 20% on restocking fee)
Will be going to another dealer tomorrow to buy either a Bush Hog or Rhino
for twice the price. This is turning into quite a drama, but I've got holes to dig and buck goats(organic battering rams:mad: ) to house before females drop the kids, at any time:eek:
Thanks for the input gents.
