Jay,
I was in India visiting Mahindra as a guest of Mahindra and heard about this over a year ago, before this came out in public. I don't recall the details, nor was I privy to any special information, but I understand that the rights to import Lenar was with Roger in Creswell, Oregon. They gave him a certain amount of time to wind that down as he had some tractors in the pipeline, parts, dealer support issues, etc. It seems like that was 15 months. What I had not thought of until this was brought up is that some of these old style Lenars could actually have a Mahindra tag on them as they built out the balance of these models for Lenar. I do know that the ones they are considering importing into the USA as Mahindra's are a lot different than what was brought in as a Lenar. There are a few "Mahindra" imports from China being tested stateside as we speak, but as of right now they are not being offered retail. If they do offer an economy model, it will need to meet Mahindra standards, hence the extensive testing.
Jay, at the Tulare show they had a Chinese tractor at the TYM both sporting some nice TYM bodywork. Do you know much about that? I was curious, but didn't have time to look into it.
Hey and what about this "I rest my case" stuff? I couldn't even tell you were making a case. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
