I have been seeing alot of big discounts and rebates among some of the lesser known brands. Should this be considered good or bad for the perspective buyer? With the economy slump and with the way things are in the middle east, the economy could go further south in a matter of weeks. I just can't help but ponder what these big discounts and rebates really mean.

I can't speak for every brand, but the brands that I represent are about even with last years sales. Kubota had a record April and May. If think if you read between the lines of the "big discounts" you'll find its more fluff than anything. By and large sales have been good, and because of emmisionization and the exchange rate the cost of tractors has been climbing, not decreasing.
