Let's discuss deer fencing...

Two years ago I installed the heavy plastic 7' fencing about 18" off of the ground around a 1 acre crop as a test. It kept the deer from jumping over the fence but they starting "bucking" under the plastic netting. I then placed a hot wire about 2' off of the ground all the way around. Problem solved. I will give it another year or so to see if they defeat it.

If you are building this anywhere around Yoakum I would think you would find a lot of local fence builders around there. or maybe they are all working on rigs.

Yes, there are quite a few in the Yoakum area. The initial quote I got was an "on-line" quote and I fully realize it "should" be less expensive to go with a local crew. However, the wife and I have discussed the situaton at length and we are 100% committed to doing the trellis ourselves. So we've got to purchase a lot of the equipment we'll need to do a fence anyway - might as well put it to good use and use it on the deer fence too!
