I know I would. Is Canon going to come out with similar mirrorless and will the lenses be compatible? I need to read up on the technology. I am falling behind.
The short answer is yes, Canon has been slow to the party, they may be waiting to see what Nikon is going to offer, how it stacks up against Sony, and then see if they have go back to engineering or announce their pro mirrorless camera. This is Nikon’s first new mount since 1958, it’s a big deal. People are wondering because it so big they may have designed it to fit both full frame and an medium format. With Fugifilm getting ready to announce their gfx 50r, a medium formate rangefinder type mirrorless body similar in size weight and price and that is the future not full frame they would be ready to compete. The smaller medium format mirrorless camera (same or small lighter then current DSLR), might just leapfrog full frame... with new mounts your old glass will need adapters. Why would you invest in whole new Nikon system of full frame mirrorless glass, when you could move to medium format, same size weight, with a way bigger sensor, that is already at 100mp, with Fugifilm.
