I will say BS on that! "Manure of meat-eating animals such as dogs should not be used as fertilizer because it can contain harmful bacteria and parasites." Go take a close look at horse manure and tell me that it doesn't contain bacteria and parasites. That's why we worm horses, because of parasites. (Cows too AFAIK.)

I know in the Far East they use (or at least did use) human waste as fertilizer.

I was under the impression the plumbing being run to the creek was for drinking water, not a sewer line.

I'm a leave-no-trace type hiker, camper, hunter. Trouble with Texas is that there isn't a lot of organic soil to bury your waste in for it to quickly decompose in much of the state. And I'm not too sure how quickly dung beetles will take care of human waste. On the other hand, I do know that hogs will consume human excrement for the trace minerals. (Makes you really reconsider the source of that ham and bacon. :laughing: )
