I don't know how I got along with out this tractor. I let my 15 year daughter do a lot of the work and she loved it.

I used mine also, dug 18" on one end for 15' x 30' inground. Working on deck now. Almost too hot for a office worker to get anything completed outside. Saved lots of money by doing the install myself.

She's doing a great job. Best of luck getting "her" tractor back.

When I put my above-ground in last year, I used a skid steer to do the heavy ground shaping and then worked it back into smooth shape with a tractor. I took a lot of the dirt that I removed and screened it. Then, the pool guys came and set the blocks for all of the uprights using a surveyor's transit. After that, I dumped buckets of the screened dirt back into the pool area and drove over it about a million times to pack it.

I have a 30' round, so I was able to easily maneuver a tractor inside of the area. After working it with the tractor, I used a large landscape rake to clear the small stones. What was left was a great base for the pool.

Pool guys put up the wall and I dumped buckets of pool sand over the wall for them to spread. Then the heavy mat, then the liner. It came out great.

Best of luck to you with your project... Be patient and work slow. It will come out great.

I used my tractor for my pool also. Laser level is also a huge help. My pool is an 18'x33' AG. The family loves it. If you want a good forum for pools this one is great. Trouble Free Pool

Finally got the pool area done today! All of my concrete blocks under the supports are level plus or minus an 1/8" according to the transit. The great thing about doing a project like this with your kids is that you can teach them skills they won't learn anywhere else. I asked my daughter how many of her friends can drive a tractor and use a transit. She just laughed.
New liner arrives Tuesday and with a little luck I'll have it ready for swimming next weekend.

You are fortunate to have a daughter that is interested and wants to learn .... some children think they know it all already ....

+1 on that.

Congrats on getting the area leveled, and wish you well with laying out the pool and mechanicals. I thought mine would never be done, but it finally went up and we were swimming about a week later.

Hauled in 3+ tons of sand today with my brother in law's dump trail. What a handy tool to be able to borrow. I let my 5 & 6 year old sons play in the pile of sand in the center of pool area while I setup the lower frame. They had the pile half spread from just playing :)

I miss kinda miss that age group. The Tonka toys get no use these days.

If you value that daughter, you need to show her how to fasten the seatbelt.

NO! The ROPS isn't up, Don't fasten the seat belt while the ROPS is lowered...

Now, the decision on whether you need the ROPS is yours to make.

Great job getting her outside!

The tractor won't fit in the shed with the ROPS up all the way so I have to run it at "half mast". Raising and lowering it every time we take it out/put it away just isn't practicle. The danger of accidentally leaving it up and crashing into the shed which would either bring half the shed down on your head or bring the front end of the tractor up off the ground is way greater than rolling the tractor.
And before someone says make the door taller it's already open all the way to the header so the only way it's getting taller is jack the building up another foot (not going to happen). We all (my family) realize it's not a toy and respect the dangers that come with it. Now last summer when she was first learning to drive the tractor she did make the shed door opening a little wider while backing the tractor out.;)

Side note I'm taking her to get her learners permit tomorrow and I told her she can drive my truck home from the DMV.

Did you slap the kids around a little for taking away seat time?

I have a CT225, and what I did to make things easier was to back out the bolts that are supposed to keep the ROPS from vibrating until I could raise and lower it just by pulling the pins. I don't notice any additional vibration. Those bolts were so dang tight that you couldn't possibly turn them using the hand grips, and I was leaving my ROPS up or down when I really shouldn't because it was such a PITA. Now I can raise or lower the ROPS in just a few seconds.

As for driving into the shed, well, that's for you to figure out. It looks like you have relatively flat property, so there is probably minimal risk, but me, I feel naked without the ROPS most of the time.
