Consulted with a Master Electrician today to ensure my receptacle does not have a problem. He said "I think you got a bad welder".

I'll update this post once I hear back from the LWS.

I have not forgotten about this thread. Tomorrow will mark one week since I dropped my welder off at the LWS. I've heard nothing so far. I think I'll give them a call in the morning.

I would! Often the squeaky wheel gets the grease.

And if your like me, that one week probably feels more like one month! Luckily for you your electrician gave your input power a A OK. :)

LWS said "A board was shorted out. It is a warranty repair and we are waiting on parts from Lincoln".

At least that is good news.

No idea how long it takes Lincoln to send parts. I think the MP210 is a fairly popular machine so I'd expect Lincoln to have the parts readily available.

The good news is they are not trying to deny their responsibility and put the blame on you.
The bad news is you have to wait for parts.
Ensure they plus the welder into 240 volts before it leaves their shop. Preferably with your cord.

Sounds like real good news to me.

I left it with both my cords. Funny thing is the guy on the phone told me the Tech told him "it welded fine on 230 but wouldn't weld on 110".

I suspect he has that backwards.

How come a "110" receptacle reads "122"? How come a "220" receptacle reads "244" (cause 122 x 2 = 244...duh).

I did ask the electrician about my service being higher than the 110/220. He said it is not unusual and that there is an acceptable range of voltage that everything should work in as consumers can't control what the electric company provides.

Kind of explains why the welder says one cord is for 120 V and the other is for 230V. I had wondered how one was supposed to make 230 out of 120 x 2.

Better to have a little on the high side than low, I metered mine awhile back and got 124 on each side. For years everyone has called a 120v outlet a 110v and a 240v a 220v ?? lol
