Dropping this picture for the background. behind the old meathouse at top right is what we called the Tin building which had old junk stored in it. I remember an old wood ice box stored there. Behind it is the outhouse we had to use up until 1963 timeframe when the new house was done and we had indoor plumbing.

Houses have sure gotten fancier over the decades, haven't they? I remember that brick patterned tar and asbestos siding. You couldn't get rid of the scrap by burning it.
The old house sat at lower right of this picture. The old siding is still on the garage side shed, where we used to milk our one milk cow in the late 60s.

The old house used to sit further up the road, and was an oil well house from the early 1900s. It was later moved. The back portion had a stone cellar under it, which we filled in a scoop at a time using the 8N tractor with a back scoop after the house was torn down. The old fuse panel for the old house is still in use today in the chicken house. some of the turned posts from the front porch are stored above the garage.

Dad using the dozer to push some dirt up behind the garage and shed. The cows would make a path behind it and erode the slope away. The little door on lower right of the shed was at the end of the manure trough, so manure could just be pushed out.

I was about 5 years old when I learned to keep my mouth closed while hosing out the gutters.
That reminds me of the time i was blowing snow off a neighbors driveway. Mind you , that was where their dogs were doing their business for several days.

Snow got too deep for his walk behind, so i went over to blow it out with my 3 point blower.

His kids were out where the snow was being blown frolicking under the new blown snow……with dog droppings in it. They had their mouths open.
I informed the father….he shrugged his shoulders. Said they will learn.

Sent the L5030 to dealer to fix brakes and find hydro leak. They said PTO seal is culprit, which is what I expected.

Buckeye,
You remind me of my father and grandfathers... they love/loved to look at and show any of us old photos. Your childhood farm looks very much like my childhood farm here in Ohio. Parents and sister still live there. I am 45 minutes away so not to far. All your pictures bring back a lot of memories for me. Thank you
