LIFETIME PLASTIC SHEDS?

"I am going to save all the hoop jumping for when i want to build a real workshop."
.
My garage here started out 40x60 2 story...a year later added 24x40...later 24x60...then two small 14x20 (bath&single car/mower shop). Same contractor...it all matches. In a few weeks he'll build a 20x40 for hay, 36x36 horse barn + 2)12x36 open equipment sheds. They all interconnect and match.

Sounds awesome. Off topic, but have any pics to share?

i looked at the arrow brand metal sheds, but they get pretty bad reviews and seem very flimsy. the reviews for the lifetime stuff seem pretty good.

yea, ill have to get rid of it in a few years when a real shop goes in because ill be maximaizing the sqft for the lot at that point. but for now, the lady wants to park in the garage! happy wife, happy life.

Have you ever looked here: Hoop Barns, Livestock Housing, Portable Garages, Pole Barn, Carport Garage, Canopy, Shed Storage, Storage Buildings, Portable Structures, Hay Cover, Car Garage - FarmTek

They run the gamut from small and relatively inexpensive to crazy-big and costly- but they all seem to be very sturdy and serviceable.

[Unlike the 10' X 20' Shelter Logic portable garage we bought [cheaply] from The Sportsman's Guide, and fought with for 3 years until a NY winter snow did what the wind had been trying to do from the beginning and collapsed it.]

I have assembled one of those 8x15 Lifetime sheds. It is working well so far.

Our old church storage shed was crushed by a tree. They just don't make quality buildings anymore.

Costco had the Lifetime shed delivered for $1,000 + tax. You need add the cost of either a wood or concrete foundation to that (I built a wood one from the instructions, just took the list from the manual to the lumber yard and had them cut all the pieces for an extra couple $). It was around $240 for the treated wood and plywood and nails.

With expert help we were able to assemble it pretty fast and it includes a few shelves in the back and by the doors. Add in a few of the wire shelving units and it works pretty well around here (not much snowfall or high winds). They sell and extra kit of reinforcement if you have more extreme weather.

There are some steps that really do need two people to get it done, and I would not recommend doing it with any significant wind. Pretty flimsy until it is all bolted together with the reinforcement trusses inside. The windows and translucent panels on the roof work well for letting light in.

Our county would also have required a permit for any outbuilding over 120 sqft. This size means I did not have to contact them. Same situation as herm0016.

Sure. It's hard to take pictures for all the trees. The back is where barn and hay shed will be. That old fence and gate will be removed.
That old tobacco barn is of course separate.20180621_183707.jpeg20180621_183753.jpeg20180621_183610.jpeg20180621_183938.jpeg20180621_184040.jpeg20180621_184227.jpeg20180621_185212.jpeg

Get one from Costco. When you build your new shop, take it back!

Same here wanted to slide under the code of 150 sq ft in Fairfax County, VA. Bought it about 15 years ago, mine has 2 man doors on the side. I built a "deck" for it, about 17x10 so there is a little overhang. Went together easily, still keeps everything out of the rain.

Now they've bumped the code up to 256 sq ft!

I’ve had a lifetime 8x10 shed for 7 years, moved it from one house to the next in pieces. It’s held up extremely well, and in wind storms it only blew off its platform twice! (Yeah, should bolt it down).
Does well with snow, critters, and me hitting it with the lawn tractor.

I also was concerned about high winds. Previously I had a Costco version of Shelterlogic yanked from it's moorings and trashed. So I threw a rope over it in several places and tied it to the platform - which is HEAVY.
