Thanks again guys. In response to the red bracket causing the failure. Na. I have already had to do the other side but in a hurry and needing to use the PT as soon as possible I just hammered it back in place and welded it without preparing the bracket. It seems to still be holding well.
Also while making this repair I welded the center one where it was starting to tear.

It is a bad weld from PT. Look at the areas that have rusted in your photo. My PT did the same thing where the turning cylinders meet the frame. Sucked to be me but you did a great repair.

Thanks Woodland. In my opinion the rusted place tells that, that part of the brake has been broken for a while and the failure did happened all at once. I really don稚 think it was a bad weld. There seems to be more weld than there was metal to weld to. I think that the quarter inch metal next to the weld just gave way after so much use and stress. Power Trac would probably need to use thicker metal to keep this from happening. I have about 1200 hrs of heavy work on my PT and this kind of repair need is acceptable to me. I have not had any trouble with the turning cylinders myself and the welds on this machine all seem to be OK.

Number one, the ability of my Pt to climb out of this hole carrying a load solved with the Toro Workman. Number 2, being able to load a truck solved with the 20 wide bucket fitted to the mini hoe. Both work great and I would like to make another bucket even wider.

Nice project. I think I would have parked the one getting loaded so it can drive out without turning around (unless you back it out).

Yes I do back out. It keeps the muck from spilling out the back and allows the job to be done with the tail gate removed. As you progress along in a big job like this you tend to discover and learn things that will make the job do and go better. Even like how to handle, move and even mix the different muds as to keep it from sticking. I added side wings to make the loading faster. As it stands it can take as many as 18 buckets to fill the toro. These sides should cut load time by half or more.

Scott I have been thinking about doing that. I have many attachments and the list keeps growing. Some people collect baseball cards or knifes or even guns. I collect Pt 422/25 attachments. 40 or more so far. Some PT OEM Some bought and modified to fit and use and some outright designed and built by yours truly. I seem to have as much fun doing that as I do using the PT.
