It's on my SIL's little Kubota B1550, but may apply to any brand. The issue is he has to hold the lift controller up, or the lever just goes to the "lowering" end. There's no tension on the lever, only has a movable "stop". I can't find any missing parts or tension adjustment, but this doesn't seem right. My JD lever stays where I put it.

The nut where the lever pivots may be a little loose. Try tightening there.
