olts.

It might be elsewhere on this forum, but just in case it isn't, the glow plugs on the 1700 are off the shelf NGK Y-401-3s and are available on Amazon and part stores for $11-13 bucks. The thermostat can be replaced with a Stant 13008 and goes for about $4 at Advance. It's an 180 degree tstat but works fine.

Thanks again,

Kypappy

Glad it work out pappy and it was not more than the simple fix. Great find on the glow plug. I make sure to save it for future reference. I have not had a need for Thermostat yet but keep that info as well. You might pick up a box of assorted cutter pins for times like this. They are pretty cheap at HF and pretty cheesy as well. Sometime a thin nail works fine till you get a new cutter pin.

Welcome to TBN and happy 1700 owners for the most part.

If the lever is vibrating up there is a tension nut on the liever shaft that needs to be tightened. On my 1900 there is a cotter pin that has to be removed to tighten the nut up some.
Bill

Thanks for the tip. Got it fixed today. I found some of JCs posts with a page out of a shop manual and followed the instructions. Quite a chore as the nut and cotter pin were rusted badly. A little persuasion with my lug nut pipe finally broke it loose. Also got the lugging problem fixed by adjusting the linkage.

Thanks again,

Kypappy
