Lifting a 22' boat off trailer

If the stringers(stiffeners in the hull) are still solid lifting with the straps shouldn't hurt it. Spreaders would be good insurance though. The boat I lifted off a trailer was an old ski boat that most of the wood had rotted out of. I ran a chain from the bow winch eye to the ski hook/rear tie down and lifted it. It pulled the rear tie out a little at the bottom and bent the rails up. I wasn't even trying to be careful.

I should try and get a pic of it, but there was a guy here who cut 2 chrysler K cars in half, then weld the 2 fronts together , one going each way, it was fully operational and could be driven from either end. Don't think he was able to get a title for though:D

Just use the 2-= 2" straps under the hull at about 1/3 from front and 1/4 from rear and use your loader to pick it up. I doubt the hull weighs 2000 lbs and an 1845 will handle it no problem and the 2" straps won't know they have anything. I unloaded 2700 lb pallets of block with mine many times and it handled those fine.Later, Nat

CHH, the hull is in great shape and strong I'm sure it would work

Ken, I wonder which half he would get title for? LOL

Nat, I had my 1845 for a little over 1 year and I know it will lift it. Right now the engine is out and there is NO title for boat so I will have lots of Mercruiser engine, outdrive parts for sale soon
I love my 1845 C

There is a car lot on Beaver Street that has a VW bug with two front ends. It runs, drives, is tagged and operates on the street. I don't think he drives it much, but keeps it on the corner for getting attention.

Was that a classic bug or the new bug? I'm guessing it wasn't the old rear engine version... it'd be 2 front ends and no engines!

Oh on the boat thing, when we painted the hull on my 24' cuddy we lowered the trailer nose and slid a cradle under the stern and raised the nose until the back of the boat was supported, drove forward 4 ft added a cradle and repeated until free and the boat was supported. Not too bad, but it was done by the boat repair guy and I was just the gofer. He already had the cradles

You could add wings to it and make it a flying boat. :D
