If the stringers(stiffeners in the hull) are still solid lifting with the straps shouldn't hurt it. Spreaders would be good insurance though. The boat I lifted off a trailer was an old ski boat that most of the wood had rotted out of. I ran a chain from the bow winch eye to the ski hook/rear tie down and lifted it. It pulled the rear tie out a little at the bottom and bent the rails up. I wasn't even trying to be careful.
