I didn't take it as being critical at all. I just wanted to put in my 2 cents worth to say that of the things I have done to my 422, loading the tires has been the single item that has significantly increased my satisfaction with the machine.

You do have a good point about servicing a flat that occurs a long ways off the beaten path. Maybe you could role it out or drain it, or use a hand truck or something. I sure wouldn't load the new tire until I had the pt back at the garage though.

The idea of a spare tire carrier is interesting. If it were also loaded, you would definitely add some weight to the back end.

Sorry if I gave you the idea I was offended. One of the best aspects of this forum is being able to post an idea and get feedback (positive and negative) on it. A little ribbing here and there doesn't hurt either.

Yea, that sounds about right. I think the pressure would be a little high if you had 55 pounds of air in there.

Clint, don't load the spare. If you have to carry it back to the remote site, you don't want it loaded. The flat with liquid can them be carried home with the PT.

Bob,

The loaded spare would be carried on a spare tire carrier on the pt. You would get the added weight while working on the tractor and have the spare with you when you had a flat. I am surprised that the BobRip Mk1 Mod0 Urban Assault Tractor doesn't already have this option.

Actually, since I have never had a flat (watch me get one tonight) and since my tractor is never more than 400 feet away from my garage on my 10 acres, I haven't seen the need for a spare.

I'm a bit confused here -- URBAN? I understand all the mods that Bob's done but I thought he had some kind of "Venusian swamp buggy" -- as compared to a Martian land rover...
