I have a Yanmar 1700 that was lacking in the front weight department as well. I have attached a picture of the front weight I made. All of the materials were free seeing as how I work for a mechanical contractor, but you could probably make pretty cheep if you visit your local metal scrap yard.

It is made out of 10x4x1/4 rectangular tubing. There were holes in the front "bumper" of the tractor that I used to mount it on. I welded one end up and filled with scrap metal and then filled all of the remaining voids with sand. When I got it packed as much as I could; I welded up the other end to make it one solid piece. Not exactly sure what it weighs, but it is enough...believe me. I broke my wifes scales weighing it, but I don't know why I was worried about it in the first place. Been over a year and she still doesn't know they are broken!

Yes I have a somewhat heavy cuz living in London, maybe she could come for a visit, except nobody will speak to her since she became a Muslim.

I know a guy that did the exact same thing only he bought new weights from Walmart. I think he said that they were 50 cents a pound.
