There are lots of rocks here, but most aren't huge. We only recently moved to this property. I started out early spring cutting the property with my BX22 and 4 ft med duty cutter. I had it set too low and really threw some rocks around. There is simply too many acres and I just don't have time to conquer it all with the BX.
My plan is to first set the cutter up to 8 or 10 inces and take the grass down to where I can find the rocks, then use box blade, loader, landscape rake - whatever it takes - to get the rocks out so that I can cut it lower. I realize it will take a while and I may have to cut it higher than I want for awhile, but in the end it will look nice. Most of the rocks could be missed even cutting at 6 inches probably, but not 4", which is where the 4ft cutter was probably set the first time. I got a few dings out of that experience, but not as bad as I would have thought. I surely dont' want to do that to a new cutter!
Thanks,
Terry
