I'm afraid that having the wires hanging out on these mounts would result in even more problem from limbs catching on the wires. That's why I put them in the flexible channel. Frankly, I'm actually thinking about using some 1/2" plastic conduit for the horizontal run between the mounting clamps. That part really needs to be more durable since our property does have quite a few trees to manuver around from time to time. But it's not a priority right now...the next mod is to install my new TinyTach that arrived yesterday. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
