Is there a way to limit the loader hydraulic pressure on the 1600 series CUT? I have a DL120 loader on my 1643. The controls are really sensitive. I'd like to adjust them so they aren't so 'jumpy' if possible. I read through the owners manual a couple times, but didn't see anything about it. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

"Pressure" is constant, "Flow" is variable with engine RPM.

I suspect either you are just not used to the joystick controls, or possibly the linkage/and or cables (if so equipped) between the joystick and the valve needs to be lubricated.

Lowering the pressure will decrease the capacity of the loader and not do anything to help with the sensitivity of the controls. I assume there is a joystick on your loader. Make sure it's not binding and moves freely. A little oil on the linkage might help. Could be that you just need to learn to be gentle on the lever. The joystick I put on my big tractor is that way. I have to go easy on the lever to be smooth with it. Way different than my Kubota BX22 joystick.

I certainly need to learn how to run the controls better! The linkage is fine...sounds like an operator issue. Guess I just need a lot more time in the seat!!!!

If you drop the rpm it will be smoother but less strong . Give yourself time you ,ll be better:laughing:. Often I,m doing the same with the loader of my 1643......not the loader,s fault, mine.;)....hang on in a few hundred hours we,ll be pros:D. Have a nice day ( it is like my wife, slower, smoother a lot of dexterity needed:laughing:)

Once you get familiar with the controls and speed, you will be asking how to make them run faster! You will also learn how to move the joy stick a small amount for more precise and slower control.

Dropping the rpm (open hydraulic system) will produce less flow but the pressure will remain constant. With decreased rpm the loader will move slower but since the pressure is the same, the amount of lift is the same.

Most people have trouble lowering the loader. If that's your case, and after some time you still can't get used to it, you can put a flow restrictor in the line. It won't hurt performance, just slow it down a little.

Thanks for the advice. You're right, its lowering the boom that seems the most touchy. I'm getting better at it with practice.

I've been operating tractors, skid steers, even a caterpillar one summer, all my life. I got used to whatever controls. The joystick on my MF1635 drops way too fast especially when loaded. In fact, I've bounced the rear wheels off the ground lowering the loader with only a small load on the forks. Also raises too fast though I got used to that. The bucket tilt also especially with forks is too fast. There's no "fine control" such as a small tilt adjustment to the bucket when pushing snow or moving dirt.

Most of the time I'm operating the loader with the engine idling. After two years, I'm finally getting somewhat accustomed to the joystick, but what race is the tractor trying to win?

Any suggestions what flow restrictor and where to install it? I have a line running forward for the grapple on the tractor's spool, it runs fine.
