Limp Bucket

I know this has been covered before but the thread search is not working to well for me. What is the cause of a slightly rubbery bucket. Never really noticed it much but as the BX is getting older, its getting a bit worse.

Matt, you could clamp and weld some flat steel to your bucket to strengthen it and make sure you clamp the bucket real solid and true it up/square it nice and tack your welds before you do a full weld so you won't get warpage in bucket

My issue is actually the hydraulics making it floppy. Limp is not a real good term that I used.

Do you mean like your cylinder ends are wallowed out/egg shaped or something like that?
Some times the pins or bushings can be replaced or the whole cylinder end with new pins and bushings

The bucket just seems to not stay in position with weight in it. Its like the hydraulics are not holding it in position. The pins and all look good. The BH makes some noises that are bit odd too, but I think that is just metal making sounds.

Is your hydraulic fluid up where it belongs and do you have any leaks? Those would cause that

Sounds like you have air in your hydraulic cylinders. Just extend and contract both your tilt and lift cylinders to the max holding for a few seconds and the excess air will be eliminated.

If you have the tractor full of fluid to the correct level, and you extended and retracted the cylinders a few times and it still sags when loaded. THEN you probably have leakage past the cylinder seals. That can be fixed pretty easily with new packing. Any hydraulic shop or the Kubota dealer. I do them myself and save the money. It's really pretty easy.

Our B2910 has done this since shortly after it was brand new. I mostly notice it when transporting and I have a packed/heaped bucket of heavy material - usually wet soil or sand. Could it be that the relief valve is just passing a little fluid from shock loads ?

No.

The relief valve is on the other side of the control valve.
