G'moring Nasty, welcome to the turf battle. In my instance,
I just cut up what was left of my Kubota shipping crate to weld up the 3-pt carrier, added a piece of scrap ply and leftover paint and -viola- carrier 99% done. I did have to buy some lower pins. Traded a couple beers for the boom tube. Basically, aside from the cost of the Fimco tank sprayer w/wand, all I bought was the TeeJets and boom clips, some hose and a couple of fittings. Can't remember exact cost, but suffice to say it wasn't TSC's finest hour. All-in-all, way less than the cost of the smaller rack mounted ATV setup they were selling and I got larger capacity, drip-free TeeJets and a bonus 3-pt carry-all in the process. Takes me (3) tanks to do a bit over 3ac. At first I wanted a larger tank for less re-filling, but realized the smaller tank was easier to store inside and accepted that trade-off since the wifey hates stuff sitting around behind the shop, etc.
Speaking of neighbors, a couple of weeks ago he and I sprayed 30gals on our fruit trees and Austrian pines in about 15mins. Last year, it took him 2hrs to do his with a hand pump sprayer and he missed the top half. He was a happy camper this year, this wand will really reach up there! I am currently practicing my welding skills making a dedicated tank mount that will slip into the 2" receiver on the old skid steer carriage that I usually have on my 3-pt for weight...
