Dropped by a dealership yesterday to look at a AGCO ST35 that was sitting out and the owner happened to drive by and stopped to talk. He opened up the showroom to show me a used ST30 he had and a used Kioti LK 2554. The LK had 252 hours on the meter, turf tires and a gear transmission. The previous owner traded for a larger model and they had had it for a short time, hadn't even cleaned it up yet.

The asking price was $6450, good price but below what MachineryLink .com says even a fair condition machine is worth. What do you Kioti guys say?

The the frame was blue, does that indicate an older model?

I'll preface this by saying I'm not an expert, but the price for the hours sounds good to me. As far as the paint I can't remember seeing any LK2554 that didn't have the partial blue
paint scheme. If it changed, I missed it. I think the unit is definitely worth a look.

The frames are a blue/grey color. As for the price, I think it's worth a closer look also. Kioti's are very good machines and can handle many, many tasks. Keep us updated. G

As long as you check out all the important functions of the tractor, i.e. lift arms operate properly, no major leaks, clutch doesn't chatter, no unusual noises etc. it's a majorly good price. Those hours are nothing in a tractor designed for thousands of hours of operation. If you liked it, and the dealer seems on the up and up, I'd say go for it. Don't let me know where it is okay? I don't need to spend any money right now! LOL /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif John

Blue frames are older tractors. I can't remember the exact date the blues went away, I believe it is 1998 or 1999. I do know I have never had a blue frame (new) on my lot. I recieved my first load in Jan of 02. All of which would have been manufactured in 2001. The 2554 is a bare bones tractor, no 2-stage clutch on PTO, unsynchro'd trans, no shuttle and 7GPM on the hydraulics. They have always proven very reliable, and can use all attachments(loader, Backhoe etc), that the 3054 uses.

Well, I spoke to the dealer today and got some additional info. The unit is a 1994 and is 2 wheel drive /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif, knowing that puts the pricing more in line with the valuation on MachineryLink. Since I want a FEL this one isn't going to work out. However it did give me a chance to sit on and look at a Kioti, something I've wanted to do for some time now.

Also, it allowed me to meet the owner of the dealership and talk tractors for a little bit. This guy could easily win my business.

Must be a 2552 then if it's two wheel drive. As I understand it, the last number is the drive designation. John

Yes you did.
But you still need to sit on and look at the DK and CK models, with their more modern designs and many more bells and whistles.

I'd love to, but....

According to their website Kioti says there is a dealer in that town but darn if I can find it!! The town is only a 150 people, the dealer I stopped at is an AGCO dealer and with the exception the LK2554 there weren't any Kioti products or literature to be found. Also, the dealership listed on the website is a different name.

BTW, I'm sure that it was a LK2554.

If so, it is switchable between 2 and 4 WD. The LK2552 is the two wheel which is not being offered new any longer. The 2554 is being replaced with the CK25 so it is only available new while supplies last. John
